Destiel Non-Discrimination Policy

Destiel is committed to maintaining a work environment that is free from discrimination. This Non-Discrimination Policy outlines our commitment to preventing discrimination and ensuring equal treatment for all individuals associated with our organization.

1. Policy Statement

Destiel does not tolerate discrimination against any individual based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by law. All individuals will be treated equitably and with respect in all aspects of their involvement with Destiel.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all volunteers, employees, contractors, and participants in Destiel's programs and activities. It covers all aspects of interaction, including recruitment, selection, training, promotion, and termination of volunteers and employees.

3. Definition of Discrimination

Discrimination includes any action, practice, or policy that unfairly differentiates between individuals or groups of individuals, leading to disadvantages or unequal treatment based on protected characteristics. This includes:

  • Direct discrimination: Treating someone less favorably because of a protected characteristic.
  • Indirect discrimination: Applying a provision, criterion, or practice that disadvantages individuals with a protected characteristic.
  • Harassment: Unwanted conduct related to a protected characteristic that violates an individual’s dignity or creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment.
  • Victimization: Treating someone unfairly because they have made or supported a complaint about discrimination.

4. Reporting and Addressing Discrimination

If an individual believes they have been subjected to discrimination or have witnessed discrimination, they should report the incident immediately. Reports can be made through the following channels:

  • Directly to a supervisor or manager
  • To the HR department
  • Through the anonymous reporting system

5. Investigation Process

All reports of discrimination will be taken seriously and investigated promptly and thoroughly. The investigation process includes:

  • Interviewing the complainant and the alleged discriminator
  • Interviewing any witnesses
  • Reviewing relevant documents and evidence
  • Maintaining confidentiality to the extent possible

6. Disciplinary Actions

If the investigation determines that discrimination has occurred, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken, which may include:

  • Verbal or written warning
  • Mandatory training or counseling
  • Suspension
  • Termination of volunteer or employment status

7. No Retaliation

Destiel prohibits retaliation against anyone who reports discrimination or participates in an investigation. Retaliation can include, but is not limited to:

  • Negative changes in work assignments
  • Unwarranted disciplinary action
  • Exclusion from team activities
  • Verbal or physical threats

8. Training and Awareness

All volunteers and employees are required to participate in regular training sessions on non-discrimination policies and practices to promote understanding and awareness.

9. Monitoring and Evaluation

We will regularly monitor and evaluate our policies and practices to ensure they are effective in preventing discrimination and promoting equality.

10. Acknowledgment

By signing below, the individual acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in this Non-Discrimination Policy.
