Destiel Workplace Harassment Policy

This policy outlines Destiel's commitment to providing a safe and respectful environment free from harassment for all volunteers and employees. Harassment in any form will not be tolerated.

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to promote a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, and to provide procedures for addressing and resolving complaints of harassment.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all volunteers, employees, contractors, and any other individuals associated with Destiel.

3. Definition of Harassment

Harassment is any unwelcome behavior that creates a hostile, intimidating, or offensive environment. It can include, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal harassment (e.g., derogatory comments, jokes, slurs)
  • Physical harassment (e.g., unwanted touching, physical assault)
  • Visual harassment (e.g., displaying offensive images, gestures)
  • Sexual harassment (e.g., unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors)
  • Cyber harassment (e.g., offensive emails, social media posts)

4. Reporting Procedures

If you believe you have been subjected to harassment or have witnessed harassment, report the incident immediately to your supervisor or the HR department. You can report harassment in any of the following ways:

  • In person
  • Via email
  • Over the phone
  • Through the anonymous reporting system

5. Investigation Process

All reports of harassment will be taken seriously and investigated promptly and thoroughly. The investigation process will include:

  • Interviewing the complainant and the alleged harasser
  • Interviewing any witnesses
  • Reviewing relevant documents and evidence
  • Maintaining confidentiality to the extent possible

6. Disciplinary Actions

If the investigation determines that harassment has occurred, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken, which may include:

  • Verbal or written warning
  • Mandatory training or counseling
  • Suspension
  • Termination of volunteer or employment status

7. No Retaliation

Destiel prohibits retaliation against anyone who reports harassment or participates in an investigation. Retaliation can include, but is not limited to:

  • Negative changes in work assignments
  • Unwarranted disciplinary action
  • Exclusion from team activities
  • Verbal or physical threats

8. Support and Resources

Destiel is committed to providing support to individuals affected by harassment. Resources available include:

  • Counseling services
  • Employee assistance programs
  • Support groups
  • Legal assistance

9. Training and Awareness

All volunteers and employees are required to participate in regular training sessions on harassment prevention and awareness.

10. Acknowledgment and Acceptance
