Role Summary:
The Hiring Manager will oversee the entire volunteer recruitment, interview, and onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new team members. They will be responsible for managing applicant communication, interview scheduling, preboarding, and onboarding while working closely with department leads to determine hiring needs.
This is a role that ensures Destiel recruits passionate, qualified volunteers who are ready to make a difference.
Responsibilities:
Volunteer Recruitment & Coordination
⢠Work with department leads to determine volunteer needs and hiring priorities.
⢠Post and update volunteer job listings as needed.
⢠Ensure that Destiel maintains an active and well-structured recruitment pipeline.
Application & Interview Management
⢠Review volunteer applications and shortlist candidates for interviews.
⢠Conduct interviews to assess candidates for alignment with Destielâs mission.
⢠Track and follow up with applicants who have passed interviews but have not started preboarding.
Preboarding & Onboarding
⢠Ensure new volunteers complete their preboarding paperwork and training requirements.
⢠Guide volunteers through the onboarding process and provide necessary resources.
⢠Send reminders and follow-ups to volunteers who have not completed their onboarding steps.
Collaboration & Oversight
⢠Work with leadership and department leads to coordinate hiring timelines.
⢠Maintain a record of active, pending, and upcoming volunteers.
⢠Help streamline and improve the overall hiring and onboarding experience.
Ideal Candidate
⢠Strong organizational and communication skillsâyouâll be the first point of contact for new volunteers.
⢠Experience in recruitment, HR, or volunteer coordination is a plus but not required.
⢠Self-motivated and proactiveâyouâll manage hiring needs with minimal supervision.
⢠Passionate about Destielâs mission and committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
⢠Comfortable using online systems for scheduling, tracking applications, and managing onboarding tasks.

Time Commitment: This is a voluntary, part-time position with an estimated weekly time commitment is roughly 14 to 30 hours a week.
