Role Summary: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Grant Writer to join our team as a volunteer. This integral position will focus on securing funding opportunities to support the growth and sustainability of Destiel. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching potential grants, preparing and submitting grant proposals, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

Responsibilities:

Grant Research:

Identify potential grant opportunities from various sources, including government agencies, private foundations, and corporate entities.

Stay informed about available grants that align with Destiel’s mission and programs.

• Proposal Development:

Collaborate with the Board and leadership to understand funding needs and program priorities.

Prepare compelling grant proposals, including budgets and supporting documentation.

Tailor proposals to meet the specific requirements of each funding opportunity.

• Grant Submission:

Manage the grant application process, ensuring timely submission of high-quality proposals.

Maintain accurate records of submitted proposals and track their status.

• Compliance and Reporting:

Monitor and ensure compliance with grant guidelines and reporting requirements.

Work closely with internal teams to gather necessary information for reporting purposes.

• Relationship Building:

Cultivate and maintain relationships with grant-making organizations.

Attend relevant events and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and connections.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

Strong research and analytical skills to identify suitable funding opportunities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Time Commitment: This is a voluntary, part-time position with an estimated weekly time commitment is roughly 10 to 30 hours a week.
We will review applications on a rolling basis.
