Introduction: Ally Awareness at Destiel is all about building bridges and strengthening communities. This program is designed to engage and educate individuals outside of the LGBTQ+ community, empowering them to become informed and supportive allies. While we currently offer online resources and events, we’re excited to announce that we are actively planning to expand and offer in-person events in the future.
It’s important to note that Ally Awareness is distinct from our EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) program, which is tailored for the corporate environment.
Online Ally Awareness:
- What We Offer: Our online Ally Awareness program is a hub for educational resources, awareness campaigns, and interactive events designed to increase understanding, empathy, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights and issues. We offer workshops and training sessions to teach allyship skills, including the proper use of pronouns and creating a supportive environment in various settings.
- Accessible Learning: Online Ally Awareness is accessible to everyone, providing a wealth of knowledge and skills to become informed allies. It allows individuals to engage with our content, learn, and promote inclusivity from the comfort of their own space.
In-Person Events (Coming Soon):
- The Future of Allyship: We are actively planning to expand our program to include in-person events. These events will provide opportunities for in-depth learning, discussion, and connection with the LGBTQ+ community.
- Workshops and Seminars: In-person workshops and seminars will facilitate face-to-face learning and discussion on allyship. These events will create a supportive space for individuals to interact and deepen their understanding.
- Support Groups and Safe Spaces: Our in-person events will encourage the formation of Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) in schools and other community settings, fostering support, dialogue, and social change.
